Background
André de Souza Vieira is the Lead Web Developer and Systems Engineer at Muze Development, where he has been building and maintaining client websites since 2014. With a degree in Systems Analysis and Development from Instituto Federal de São Paulo, one of Brazil’s top federal technical institutions, André brings a formal engineering foundation to every project he touches.
Before joining Muze, André worked as a web developer and security analyst at Quicktech, where he handled full-stack development alongside network and application security. That international experience gave him exposure to enterprise-level security practices and cross-cultural team workflows that carry over into how he operates today. Prior to that, he conducted research at IFSP on heuristic characteristics in computer game interfaces, publishing his findings at the COMCISTEC 2012 conference.
At Muze Development, André is the technical backbone of the operation. He handles WordPress development, server configuration and hosting infrastructure, ongoing site maintenance, and the kind of behind-the-scenes systems work that keeps 150+ client sites running smoothly. When a build needs custom functionality, a server needs hardening, or a site needs to be rescued from a bad situation, André is the one doing the work.
Specializations
André’s technical depth spans the full WordPress stack, from theme and plugin development to database optimization, server-level caching, and Linux administration. He holds AWS Cloud Foundations certification and multiple freeCodeCamp certifications in front end development, responsive design, and JavaScript algorithms and data structures. He is continuously adding to his skill set, most recently completing advanced front end development coursework in 2025.
His security background from his time in Norway gives Muze’s clients an extra layer of protection that most WordPress agencies can’t offer. André approaches every build with security-first thinking, proper file permissions, hardened configurations, and proactive monitoring are built into his process, not bolted on after the fact.
